Best way to send a large parcel to The Highlands of Sotland?

I have to send a parcel about four feet long, seven inches wide and six inches deep but not particularly heavy.I have found Royal Mail unreliable recently so I am looking for your recommendations of a local alternative.Thanks.

There are so many carriers these days and frankly they're all a bit hit and miss in my experience. However UPS are still reasonably reliable if expensive. A good idea might be to seek advice from Mailboxes Etc. They have a branch on Chiswick High Road and I believe act as agents for several different shippers. I don't know how much sending to a destination off the mainland might limit your choice though.

The people you need to ask are the intended recipientsand their experience with the various couriersmaybe including Royal Mail,As its the delivery in the Highlands of Scotland that may present the most problems not necessarily how accomodating a local courier might be, at this end in London.michael adams

Thank's for your suggestions.It turns out the destination is Bannockburn, not in the Highlands.Mailbox recommend Parcel Force at twenty pounds. It seemed a lot so I popped into the Post Office who quoted £13.14. for the same service.That's spooky!1314 is the year of the Battle of Bannockburn in which one of my ancestors fought alongside Robert the Bruce.So the Post Office win!
