Police on the High Rd

I just saw a police car cross over & draw up on a blue light & 2 officers jumped out & went over & started talking to a young girl with a suitcase who was sitting outside M&S but not blocking the doorway. I had been there for a while & not seen her interact with or bother anyone. I'd like to think there was good intention behind this. Is there some history to her, or is it a waste of police time when I'm sure they could be better used elsewhere?

Judging by the number of beggars on the High Road who are rightly left unbothered, I'd have thought the cops had a good reason for doing what they did.I remember a girl sitting on the pavement outside M&S playing a concertina so beautifully that I dropped a fiver towards the cardboard collection box beside her because I thought her talents deserved reward. The fiver fluttered down and missed the box, and she lurched sideways to catch it in mid--air. The concertina fell out of her hands but the music played on! She'd obviously got a music system hidden away somewhere. We both had a good laugh about her naughtiness.
