Air machine at Sainsbury garage Manor Road

We have used the air machine at the garage for years, but now they have upgraded it. Not only is it very slow but at one stage it vastly overinflated and then vastly deflated one tyre. When we checked the tyres with a hand held guage it had overinflated all of them. The guys in the shop have nothing to do with it. Does anyone know who is responsible for the machine there that I could take this up with? I doubt it is the store manager.

The air machine at the Richmond Sainsbury has been 'boxed' up for some time.I have used this for many years.  Fill up with petrol, check the tyres.These machines are absolutely essential and so many people do not bother if there is not a reliable airpump.

Sorry Elizabeth but I don't understand what you mean! It was OK until a few weeks ago but then got upgraded (and you now pay 30p for using it, which is fine). But I would like to get it sorted out and don't know who to approach

Why not contact Sainsbury's directly, and ask them?

I recommend getting a digital tyre inflator. They only cost about £20 and mean that it is easy to check your pressure and rectify regularly. You can also boost pressure if you are going on a long journey and if you were to get a slow puncture it would allow you to get to a garage without changing the tyre.

The question that I originally put was who to contact? The cashiers in the shop could not help, and the store manager is not likely to be in charge of the garage. So who should I contact. Good idea about the home inflator though

It looks like it is another of these services that has been contracted out doesn't it?  Fragmentation and consequent lack of oversight as a result?  Sainsbury's Head Office?  As Elizabeth Ross points out there is another Sainsbury's petrol station where there is a problem too.Although we have our own tyre pump it can be easier to read the figures on a larger higher one.

This air machine was not working this morning. I don’t know if it has been since the original post here which I’d forgotten about until I went to use the machine today. Also as stated previously it now costs 30p for 3 minutes use so I suspect doing four tyres would come to 60p minimum unless you were really fast.
