In search of lost downloads

I have a number of theatre and exhibition tickets on my Android Phone. Until today, I would just type DOWN into the search box and up would pop the downloads folder. Now, there's no sign of it. Everything else on the phone is working as normal.Googling 'where are my downloads' tells me to use an App called My Files, which I don't seem to have.It's not the end of the world. I have hard copies on my PC which I can print out and box offices will always provide duplicates on the day but I hate this sort of mystery and wondered if anyone else had encountered it and/or had any bright ideas.

Okay, I managed to locate the App, which is actually called File Manager, and use it to access my downloads but it doesn't explain why the old method suddenly stopped working! Grrr!

It's one of the great mysteries of modern techie life. Just the other day I could not locate my phone in the house. So I picked up a nearby cardboard box and wrote Where on it, before i finished my sentence low and behold I saw my phone under the box !  Lucky touch I guess. After i picked my phone up I could then use the search box to type in how do I find my phone :-)
