South Chiswick traffic measures.GPG/SoGA SURVEY

There have been many threads on this subject, Here is your opportunity to voice your concerns.  It is only by concerted local pressure that we can hope to achieve a result.Your views & involvement needed!South Chiswick traffic restrictions: Hounslow Council has made permanent local traffic restrictions via its Streetspace programme and the South Chiswick Liveable Neighbourhood scheme. • GPG and SoGA need your opinions to inform the response to the Council. Please give your views through an online survey, the results of which will be made available to residents. Please complete the survey here before March 15th 2022: www.tinyurl.com/GPGSOGASurvey  • You are invited to a public meeting which will take place at 7pm on Thursday 17th March, at St Paul’s Church (Grove Park Road W4 3SD). There is no ticketing required to attend this event. Aim is to discuss local resident views on the recently extended measures in Burlington Road / Staveley Road, and the scheme overall. All opinions are invited, both for and against the measures or alternatives, with the event independently chaired by Paul Lewis (journalist, BBC Radio 4 presenter). Hounslow Council representatives are invited to speak and address questions. Well done on this and for doing something constructive versus our local councillors who just bleat on about how disgusting the council is. But why have you made it anonymous?It won't stand scrutiny if you can't prove it is local feedback.The cycling lobby are well known manipulators of consultations and if there is any large % supporting the measures the accusations will be that those smart arses have done it again.Likewise a large % opposed could be the anti lobby.Maybe you just want good ideas - if so fine.

Strand on the Green Association and the Grove Park Group are two local resident associations that have been in discussions with Lbh over the disjointed traffic measures imposed across the 5 SOTG/RV/CS/FR/GP cpz. We held one public meeting last October and now plan a second for 17 March after we get the results from our local survey (details above).  Our 3 supportive Ward councillors Hearne Giles and Denniss plus Cllrs John Todd Steve Curran and Hanif Khan plus Lbh assistant business director Jefferson Nwokeoma and Nick Rogers our GLA member have been invited.We welcome all constructive local comments for and against the LTN traffic measures.

https://chiswickcalendar.co.uk/residents-protest-against-staveley-rd-barrier/A few Councillors and about a dozen other people representing about five or six households in Grove Park gathered to protest against the Staveley Road permanent filter this morning. OneChiswick extended the  invitation to the protest to everybody in Grove Park. One can only assume that the signs refer to 88% of the protesters present being opposed to the scheme being made permanent and that two of them were either made to attend against their will or they counted the dogs who woofed that they are in favour and are pleased to be safe to walk in the road and leave their mark on the barrier. It is lovely to see the barrier enabling retired people to get together in the middle of a road and have a nice chat. Lovely stuff.

Living in Grove Park with the road restrictions is a nightmare. Just this weekend we had our sons birthday party and none of his friends parents would drive to our house as many had already received fines and still confused with what is allowed. We had to do numerous trips to go and pick them up (all from Kew, Barnes and Brentford). We filled in the surey last time, my understand that a very large majority were opposed,yet the schemes were not only maintained but extended. I have lost all respect for the council and actively looking to move out of the area, cant be bothered any more, better to live somewhere with less restrictions.

Today a customer who lives in GP was telling me she had her car stolen out of her driveway. She currently has a rental. She is being penalized repeatedly as there is no way for her to register the rental. A customer yesterday said she stopped going to the venues in GP now that the LTNs have been put in place. She lives in Bedford Park. She also said she drops her son off at the edge of the boundary and makes her son walk to his friend's house within the promised land.

I wonder how the Veterinary Surgery near the station will survive. Holding onto their existing customers will be a challenge and attracting new ones even more difficult.My guess is they will have to relocate.
