As a student at Leeds University in the 50s, I saw Barry Cryer in a 'Rag Week' show at the local Empire. Some of his sketches had me in stitches, especially one that set up Heckmondwike, a grim mill town, as a rival to a tropical fiesta hotspot, all to Latin rhythms. also, he was the heart of 'I'm sorry, I haven't a clue' surely ne of the best radio comedy shows. I shall miss hearing his warm Yorkshire voice.
