Staveley Rd exemption permits update 27/1/22

LBH Traffic Dept advise permit confirmation emails sent out this afternoon. I've confirmed this action with a number of residents.If you applied and haven't heard from LBH please email them asapJohn

Any update on including Old Chiswick residents in the exemption?? I can’t count more than 1 service we have provided here.

FabianaThere are no exemption permits for the residents of the Old Chiswick area including Chiswick Mall, Church Street and others.We've found similiar traffic schemes in Fulham and Lambeth where local residents have no restrictions.Colleagues are making representations to LBH to follow this precedent.

Does this exemption enable one to drive into Hartington Road from the A316, or is that a separate matter?

Hi,CJ the excemption is for Staveley Rd by Chiswick school only. As i will not be allowed to drive north up Hartington Rd between 08.00 and 19.00hrs mon-sat.But i can drive straight across into Staveley Rd now as I have a confirmation e-mail.

Are you sure that is the case because it is insane if it is? If Hartington Road is non-exempt while Staveley Road is, won't it mean that all local traffic will go that way effectively directing vehicles past a school. This was supposed to be a School Street measure.

I’ve applied several times. Haven’t received any confirmation. Have messaged the Traffic Dept.  Still waiting to hear.  They take 10 working days to respond.

Not sure if this answers your query but there are two schemes in place related to access to/from the A-316...both are operational between 8am - 7pm, Mon-Sat, as follows:1) Hartington Road traveling Northbound from the A-316 (zone starts at Chiswick Quay)- Exemptions available for residents living within the CS & RV CPZ zones.* Anyone can drive Southbound along Hartington Rd at anytime from within Grove Park towards the A-316 2) Staveley Road School Street Scheme between the A-316 and Burlington Lane (anyone can access the cemetery and Chiswick School Sports Hall from the A-316 at all times) - Exemptions available for residents living East of the A-316 (Dukes Meadows area) plus those living within the GP & FR CPZ zones and allotment holders plus a few more. In conjunction with this scheme, Burlington Lane is now exit only onto the A-316. This spreads out the number of local vehicles traveling down both roads and excludes access for all others between 8am & 7pm Mon - Sat. thus minimises number of cars going past school (even when school is not in session)!

I also requested if my application was succesful and while the e-mail says respond within 10 days they did reply within 3 days saying I was succesful. Traffic on A316 was exceptionally busy coming from Richmond this Sunday between 12.30 to 13.00hrs. Tempted to sneak through Hartington Road, Grove Park bridge, Chiswick school ( Sunday only). Safer than turning right at lights to Dukes meadows.

If you drove down Hartington today, you are OK. The notice on the 316 and at the mini roundabout says it's OK on Sundays starting 27 Jan
