533 bus not stopping in Chiswick

With the help of Nick Rogers our GLA Member we've continued to campaign for this bus to  return to stopping in Chiswick on the A 316At Mayor's question time  Sadiq Khan agreed that making it harder for people to use public transport was perhaps counter-productive and offered to meet with Nick and me with his deputy mayor Traffic.I'll report the result.Any contributions of evidence on how valuable this service was would be appreciated. According to BrentfordTW8.com the regularity of the 533 is being reduced for what appears to be a compensating increase in the 235. Perhaps this is relevant as it will make TfL more reluctant to  increase the journey time on a route that is about to see fewer buses serving it. It is interesting the tendency of TfL to have the express services which don't stop in Chiswick e.g. the Piccadilly line.

That's great. Well done. I thought Nick Rogers positioned this very well at Mayor's QT:"there's quite a sensitive discussion in that part of London about transport and public transport and getting people out of their cars. Which is something that we want to encourage".It seems there is traction in creating more cross-party consensus on the guiding principles and core polices.

Steve, please help me with your confusing (to me) comment. I do not see the link between getting people to use public transport (good) and encouraging them to use their cars (bad).

Good news that Mayor Sadiq Khan has asked his deputy to look at possibility of reinstating 533 bus stopping in Chiswick. Fingers crossed.

Have to say I was very impressed with the way that both Nick Rogers and Sadiq Khan conducted themselves on this matter. It is heartening that the Mayor of London would take enough interest in the issue of three bus stops to consider overriding his officers' advice. Nick Rogers' persistence clearly was important.
