The demographic questions in surveys can be useful for interpreting the results, for instance identifying specific groups who are disadvantaged by a proposal. It may be that the feedback will show that men a significantly more likely to be in favour of the scheme than women - certainly nearly all the main defenders of it on this forum are men. Men are much more likely to be regular cyclists and women I know in the Grove Park area feel less safe at night because of the lack of through traffic.If you don't want to answer a particular question then should be the option to do so.

They ask about birth gender the question before.  Asking about transgender I feel is not statistically useful in this survey.Perhaps asking"Do you use this route to drop people off at chiswick train station?""Do you use this route to access the A4 to go west?""Do you use this route to access chiswick high road or above?"Understanding why people use it would be more useful surely?

Nik, your suggested questions have the great disadvantage of making sense. LBH's questions about gender assignment, etc, indicate that they are much more interested in box-ticking exercises than gathering useful information.

Having just read up on the public space protection order consultation, I believe these questions are now mandatory in order for the consultation to be deemed legitimate. Goes to "engaging" with minority and vulnerable communities.

Agree with the previous comments but have completed the consultation anyway with my complete objection to this latest looney-toon scheme and would advise all other GP residents to do the same.
