Meat Loaf

Meat Loaf resided for a while, at the height of his fame in a house in Barrowgate road.Passing by Chris's barber shop in the High road one morning I was surprised to see the great man inside, presumably waiting to have his long hair trimmed.He returned my gaze with a big smile. It made my day.

I am sure that Jim Steinman deliberately left the answer for the listener to work out for themselves. When the original "Bat out of Hell" album first came out I recall driving across Canada from Winnipeg to Vancouver. Every morning we would put on the Bat album in the car as our wake-up call for that day's journey. RIP Meat and thanks for the memories.

Francis, it was for a short period in the mid nineties when he stayed in Barrowgate road and I have no idea why.

Nt a fan of his music particularly but recognise he had talent and ability.Fom what I learned of him from watching a couple of interviews he seemed like a thouroughly decent chap on first impressions, articulate, humble and good humoured.There is a tribute on BBC4 tonight 9pm.

He would not do computer based dating. In 1977 you had to write out your profile on a set of punch cards at home , a very long winded job. You then sent them in to the local mainframe and once a month they would do a batch job attempted matching process on all the groups of cards. This in itself would take 2 whole weeks of processing. If you did get a match you were notified by snail mail and if you wanted to meet you had to punch out a new card with a smiley emoji and resubmit.  The whole thing took all the excitement  out of finding love,  so basically , he would not do it. Fair play to the man.
