According to the official New Year honours list, Steven Martin Cooper of Greater London was awarded a CBE "for services to Banking and Social Mobility". The list says that he is Co-Chair of the Social Mobility Commission (SMC).Actually, there were two interim co-chairs pending the appointment of a new Chair, Katharine Birbalsingh CBE, which was announced on 10 October 2021 by Liz Truss when she was Minister for Women and Equalities.The other Interim Co-Chair of the SMC was Sandra Wallace, who also received a CBE in the New Year Honours.Further information on the SMC is at https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/social-mobility-commission
