As always I stand to be corrected, but the cat in that photo is best described as a tabby as it clearly has striped fur. Regardless of photos on Google images and elsewhere the fur of tortoiseshell cats is blotchy, without any discernible pattern at all. In addition male tortoiseshell cats are extremely rare.I'm only pointing this out, so as to help you with your search.michael adams

It's not my cat. The description comes from the owner. I repost because previously this forum has proved quite effective in getting pets returned to their owners. Happy to see a prolonged discussion about the differences between a tabby and a tortoiseshell as it will maintain the prominence of the post.
