email problem

For no reason I can understand, when I opened my emails today (Microsoft Outlook) the latest post listed was one that was sent on September 9th, and I can't get the message list to come up to date. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Couple of suggestions - could you accidentally applied some kind of sort? I'd try applying a sort by date (usually by clicking on the date column in your email application).Alternatively, could you have done some kind of search through your messages and could the search criteria still be in place?

In addition for any option already chosen then clicking on the column near/at the top should reverse the order in which the the posts are shown date.font/size etc michael adams

I’ve noticed this happening since an Office 365 upgrade. You may need to close down and reopen to force Outlook to update the mailbox.

Thanks to everyone for taking the trouble to reply, but special thanks to Michael for his suggestion. I went to 'Filter' then 'Sort by', then 'Date', and all came back to normal. Phew! Happy Christmas, everyone!
