The Chiswickian who legalised Women's Football!
The increasing popularity of Women's Football is well appreciated by many.It seems incredulous that it was once banned..as being an unsuitable activity for females!Fifty years ago a Chiswickian put an end to all that. Sir Denis Follows of Barrowgate Road, who was Secretary of the Football Association at that time promulgated and spearheaded the change. Denis was a local Old Meadonian playing cricket regularly in Chiswick House and elsewhere.Denis was also appointed Chairman of the British Olympic Committee at the time of the 1980 Moscow Games. Seb Coe remains so grateful to Denis.Denis had also been a Union Chief for British Airline Pilots.He was a good writer..he was apt at sorting out problems...and acted well when he was 'on stage'Sir Denis Follows deserves at Blue Plaque at his old Barrowgate Road home. Agree?Who can further this suggestion?
