My understanding is that with the vaccine you can and no doubt will catch covid. However, those vaccinated now have anti-bodies to defend against the virus. Therefore the symptoms are most likely significantly less, if any. Similarly, with the more rapid defense against the virus, those vaccinated will be spreading less of the virus. Not zero, but much less. (Unlike the unvaccinated who are going around risking spreading Covid to the vulnerable, nice, thanks.)All that is true for Omicron as well, with the difference that the month by month decreasing in the vaccines effectiveness means the resilience a vaccinated body has is diminished (not gone, just diminished, so still reducing effects and capacity to spread the virus compared to unvaccinated). Thus after some months a third vaccination will bolster the bodies anti-bodies and ability to resist the virulent Omicron variant. It seems likely that a fourth job will be required next year.In practical terms we will soon need to present the certificate for one's third vaccination to gain entry to bars and restaurants. Not a big issue, on my phone already.
