Puppies

I wonder if anyone can assist - my sister has three adorable puppies for sale, if you know of anyone interested...do direct them to the below:-Seeking homes within a loving, caring environment for these gorgeous pups – two female and one male. Born in September, they are a Bichon Maltese/Bichon Frise mix – Mum and Dad are family pets. They have recently been vaccinated along with worming, flea treatment and each one is chipped. They also had their puppy health check and are in impeccable health. We are undergoing toilet training with them. They are ready to go to their new homes. Each little puppy has its own personality, lively, playful and loves nothing more than a tummy tickle. Seeking a home that will love and care for them as one of the family, whilst being prepared for the responsibility that comes with owning a dog. Even a small one! I thought all dealers had to be licensed now.

Yes, all dealers have to be licensed.  Apparently if caught the punishment is up to £5000 fine or even up to 6 months in prison. I think that if someone wants a dog then they should adopt. There's an overpopulation crisis of dogs in this country as it is.

Is anyone whose dogs has had puppies deemed to be 'a dealer'? Serious question. I know times have changed but when I was a kid there was always someone looking for homes for a litter.

"Anyone looking to buy or adopt a puppy or kitten under six months must either deal directly with the breeder or with an animal rehoming centre". Ive no clue but a breeder must be licensed so with above the answer is most likely yes. But  As of 1 October 2018  any person who breeds three litters in any 12 month period must have a licence. So that means NO

Also think there should be ongoing checks that pets have had their yearly booster jab and/or seen by a vet at least once a year.

In a perfect world - yes. The problem always is who will enforce such a regime? Responsible, caring pet owners already do this as a matter of course, it's the irresponsible that need chasing and therein lies the puzzle.

Agree it's a difficult one but not impossible, if all pets are microchippeda register of follow ups to each microchip is alll I can come up with, I'msure others will have better ideas.

But who will do this? The police are going to be too busy persecuting people under Priti Patel's Policing Bill - so you can forget them, and I don't see vets, or animal charities picking up the slack, apart form which they won't have the powers.

the vet the pet is registered with possibly, microchips are not expensiveso charge a little extra for the follow up checks, vet would benefit in thelong run.
