She used to be a regular contributor but I have noticed that we have not heard from her for a while.  I know her health is bad so wondering if she is alright.

thanks to those who  wondered if i'd fallen 0ff the roundabout - still here but breathing not so good.  my computer has broken, can't see or receive emails, hope this message will appear on the forum.  no mobile phone either - can only contact me by my home tel no.  thnks again for your kind concern

Does anyone know her personally and can put me in contact?I'm no wizz with computers but there are computer shops that can help and I am willing to fund any repairs. A Forum with JS is better than one without it given some of the contributors here. Please PM me if you can help.

I wont put up my details but if a PM works then all and good for communication but jennifer has my email address if one can send one in any way.  I can think of one lady on this forum who i believe possibly knows both of us and has my number so that is another option. I miss Jennifer's fighting spirit. Technology can be a challenge for us all.  It can so easily go wrong when updates are required with changes to the way things work and passwords and needing to be able to make type larger to be able to read it. Then there's the specs that go missing or you fall asleep in them and break them...

We see easy use mobiles for the elderly is there such a thing a easy use computers for the elderly to keep them in touch.

I had two mobiles before I got one that I could use easily and that one was someone's old non-smart Nokia which because it was such a popular phone loads of people could help with if I got stuck.  I then replaced it with a new similar Nokia.  One of the things that made me most nervous was that you had to press "send" before you had entered who to.  It is much easier to write emails on a computer!  I couldn't now read messages on a small phone. There are so many functions on these gadgets that you need to learn just what you need to start  off and then add as and when.  The camera is something that is now important and wasn't on the big easy to use mobiles.

much prefer the Nokia which I keep going back to for sending texts, the smart phone don't understand text talk and keeps changing thecontents of the text so have to keep checking it before I can send.

All Android phones (but I have experience of a Samsung for my mother) have an "Easy Mode" for the operating system. It simplifies the icon structure and makes them larger I think.  If you google easy mode and the android phone you use it should tell you how to switch it on.

Yes, a friend who avoided using a smart phone for years went to her tried and trusted shop John Lewis and came out with a Samsung.  She told us that they didn't sell Apple but on investigation they do appear to.  Maybe they just thought that the Samsung would suit her better.  There appears to be a system for the messages to be read aloud to you and for you to ask the assistant to find functions for you but we haven't explored this yet.
