Bins in Grove Park

Litter Bins are in a terrible state across most of Grove Park. Have logged the problems on “fix my street” which the council normally respond to very quickly, however bins still overflowing. Terrible state

Seems like they are prioritising weekly collections due to the driver shortage.

People have been stuffing street bins there for years because some have been too tight to pay for collection. Viz outside copper cow.

Street bins are emptied (or not) by our commercial contractor, Hounslow Highways and their emptying has no connection to waste and recycling collections by Recycle360.I am aware of recent problems in GP - I reported some myself - which are blamed on a new member of staff, which I consider a poor excuse.Do report problems on https://fms.hounslowhighways.org/ or the phone app or let me know if there are persistent problems

At the same time, maybe you could also encourage the company/contractor/part of council that is responsible for collecting pink bin bags on the street, to also take the black ones/cardboard etc which has been placed next to them. And visa versa. Seems some pretty daft demarkation and no sign it has any effect on peoples rubbish putting out habits.

We will shortly be introducing containers to hold the purple bags provided to flats above shops in much of CHR. This means that anything left on CHR outside a container will either be legitimate commercial waste (which should be picked up in a defined and fairly short window) or evidence of an environmental crime. We are ramping up enforcement against environmental crime.

All good and some of those have appeared near us. It's not the fault of the council that some don't use them or use the wrong coloured bags. But it is daft that one crew of recycling will only take a particular type of bag away, leaving one of a different colour behind. I've no idea of the relationship/contracts in pace for varying types of recycling contractors/departments. But it isn't always very joined up.
