Cop a load of rubbish?
Listening to all the talk of what the government hopes the COP26 meeting will achieve and Johnson's usual bluff and bluster. "We are going to have to make some pretty major changes to the way we heat our homes. Heat pumps and so on are more expensive alternatives. So we're going to (hand) out £5000 grants. We can set the country on course to a cleaner, greener, fairer future." Does anyone else think we will really need to think about no longer permitting developers to build in the conventional manner? Surely a root and branch review of building regulations is long overdue. Shouldn't new builds in the future have to have heat pumps and solar panels, top grade insulation and all the environmentally friendly bells and whistles as standard? Installing these things on existing housing is phenomenally expensive, and how many people will be able to even think about it. If the government doesn't start giving the rhetoric a rest and actually putting its money where its big mouth is, then what's the point of the beano in Glasgow?
