Sainsbury’s

After buying a couple of food items labelled ‘J.James and family’ from Sainsbury’s recently I googled them. It seemed this wholesome family produced a wonderful range of fresh goodies, eggs, ham and the like, and I was interested to find out more about them, imagining an enterprise along the lines of the Yorkshire shepherdess. But no. It transpires that this is Sainsbury’s rebrand of its own label ‘value’ Basics range. I think this is at best deliberately misleading and at worst a cynical marketing con. Shame on them!

As a student long ago I once bought the cheapest own brand -instant coffee. I learnt my lesson - never again. Incidentally this was not Sainsbury's own brand. Sainsbury's own brand chocolate is great value. They tend to hide it on a bottom shelf.

Thanks to Sainsburys for clearing up the recycling area in their car park. They take a lot of brickbats over services but do provide a recycling area that is much abused by some of the public. Not all of us have facilities at home for recycling and some (like myself) find this a very useful thing.

Except we do have people in the community who have a food budget for various reasons and the cheaper options are to help such people. If they did not sell they would not be on the shelf,liking them or not

Agree with Simon. When Fisher's Lane closed and it became more difficult to get to the big Sainsbury's I started shopping mainly at the one at Acton and you soon realise how much more expensive things are at Sainsbury's. The choice is a little less but there is no compromise in terms of quality.

The prices depend on which Sainsbury's you shop at.  The smaller Sainsbury's stores are more expensive than the larger.
