Flu

Just read UK could be hit very badly by flu. It could be worse than in other countries. Why do we get most things worse than other countries. No other country is slaughtering their pigs. Flexistow docks are jammed full and Maersk are diverting boats to main land Europe as we cannot cope. I dont know if this is true?

What's the link / point you're making regarding flu and supply chain problems? Completely separate events.  Flu is likely to be more prevalent this year because of the covid restrictions/social distancing drastically reducing transmission of seasonal flu. Which in turn means immunity levels in the population are lower this year, than would otherwise be expected. if we're getting it worse than other countries, it's probably because we did a better job of lock down over the winter than they did. Facetious answer to your other point all other countries are also slaughtering their pigs.

Because no one understands that not having had these other viruses over the past 2 years they think we are only going to get the normal colds etc... I have two friends who have recently got a cold - their symptoms have been really bad- and they are still suffering.

Everyone wearing masks on public transport would go a long way to stopping the spread.  They do it in Japan and regard it as their civil duty to protect others but unbelievably many people here think their liberty and freedom is being infringed. It isn’t for the Government to nanny everyone, it is for everyone to care and respect others in our community.

Our boys have had it for a few days now and have finally managed to pass it on to me. Fantastic.

Although my wife thinks I might have Man Flu which, as everybody knows, is far worse than normal flu.

I do find it astonishing how many people are completely ignoring the instruction from TfL to wear masks on the Tube. Whether or not you follow MCB News and regard Covid as a hoax, they also help stop the spread of colds and flu and should be worn as an indication that you care about the welfare of your fellow-travellers, quite apart from protecting yourself.

There was a woman on the tube yesterday coughing her guts up, though at least she was wearing a mask. Even if you have a virus other than Covid, stay home and keep it to yourself.

Agreed Susan- not good is it !

Completely agree that we should be wearing masks to reduce the spread of flu and coughs and colds. If they are sensible enough in other countries to do this then we surely we should be sensible enough after all we have seen and gone through to do it here.Unfortunately many people take their masks off to cough! Please don't and if you are ill - stay at home.

Definitely a lot of people on train today not wearing masks. Where is the enforcement ? We had Councils paying enforcers to fine people for feeding a bit of bread from their sandwich to birds, but not this. Or are they out there and I’m not seeing them ?
