Could someone summarize for us all exactly who will be allowed to drive into GP using Staveley and Burlington under these amendments?

SimonWe called in both the old streetspaceschemes and those proposed. The Scrutiny committee all endorsed our concerns and referred this matter to cabinet. All proposed action is now on holdSee link below for more detailhttps://hounslowherald.com/council-told-to-reconsider-chiswick-road-schemes-p13664-95.htm

This map was included in the article in today's newsletter on the subject which shows who can drive where under the latest proposals:

Pretty much no one, unless you already live there (or in Riverside). Not sure how many residents of GP wanted to live in a gated community but LBH clearly think it is the majority despite their own survey saying otherwise

The message sent out by Hounslow Council ahead of the meeting seems clear - the Chiswick Riverside residents living east of the A316 would be able to access the permit zone unfined - along Staveley Rd. The time of the restrictions has been increased a bit to 7:00pm.Am I wrong Clr. John Todd? You seem to imply this is only a suspension.

LBH announced on the 27/8 that Staveley Rd part of the school street scheme (where the road adjacent to the school closes Monday to Friday 8 to 9 am 2.45 to 3.45) was now to be closed from 8 am to 5pm Monday thru Saturday. In the new scheme the hours of closure extended to 8 am- 7pm Monday thru Saturday. Residents who live in the Grove Park Faulconberg Rd CPZs would now have 24/7 access via the A316. No one though living east of the A316 (2200 residents) would have access including 64 blue badge holders and the disabled Following our call in negotiations prior to the call in meeting, a new Zone was created to permit this group access apart from blue badge holders.Chiswick school had previously asked for a zebra or pelican crossing with barriers either side to ensure pupils used these crossings. What's now proposed is clearly not a school street project.Pupils are not protected as they were with the original scheme. Those not permitted delivery vehicles Uber cabs etc have to enter Grove Park via the A4.

There is a school bus going through Grove Park which picks up in the morning and drops off in the afternoon. Pre 8am is ok and post 5pm is ok...but not 7pm ! Common sense says some sort of discretionary permit system is needed John!?

On a side-issue, does anyone know why the orange flashing lights on the school street signs now seem to be operating 24/7 - or if they're not on permanently then certainly they are lit whenever I've passed one lately even very late at night. It must be really annoying if there's one outside your house as they are very bright.
