0091 scam calls

I am regularly getting calls from a number beginning 0091 telling me I am about to lose my WiFi and I must act quickly. I blocked the number but they change the last 2 or 3 digits. I leave it to go to answer machine now and it rings off. It worries me that there may be people who will fall for this scam and lose money. It’s quite a nuisance.Any suggestions.

We recently bought a new landline phone with the feature that unknown callers have to state their name, and then we can listen to their name before we decide whether to answer or not. Or something like that.Anyway, it's completely stopped the nuisance calls.

That sounds great - can you tell me the make and model of your phone please .

TalkTalk offer this through their CallSafe service.

I've got a BT call blocker phone and it's great. I think nearly all the new BT phones have call blocker technology.  They work on most landlines even if you are not a BT customer.

There is a limit to the number of callers you can block ans as I’ve said they change the last digits on the number
