All the evidence is that people don’t want to live in high rise blocks. They aren’t conducive to family life and, where they are for direct sale, people won’t buy them according to local estate agents. Moreover now the cladding issue and Grenfell hangs over everything. What is so disgraceful about constructing pleasant surroundings where people have some personal outside space, designed round their needs, with good transport and so on, instead of turning everyone into air people floating above a concrete jungle, worrying about working lifts and buggies and how to escape in a fire etc instead of unsuitable and ugly blocks raised with the sole purpose of selling land to fund the Elizabeth line. The new high rise in Bollo Lane advertises the new pavement as its greatest asset. Wow. No one goes there anywayThere is no parking, no bus route to Chiswick any more, the route it now takes to service the Business Park and the non existent Eliz line is consequently empty while disabled residents struggle to get around. They are not serviced by any new shops to speak of……disgrace is the word. Corruption could be another.
