Barclays - poor service again

Brought coins (already sorted in  plastic bags 1p, 2p, 5p)  to them and they refused to take them snd put into our account. Reason: we are moving in 1 week. Where can I bring them now, any ideas? Has Sainsbury still the machine where you can bring change?

Sainsbury's still have the change machine.

Otherwise there used to be one in Metro Bank on the High Road, though it's a long time since I was in there, so you'd need to check.

Hounslow Branch via 237 bus!

Thank you for your help, will use Sainsbury’s

Don't use the Sainsbo's one - unless you want to pay for the service. Metro Bank offer it for free (and a snappy blue pen if you can grab one).

Really not helpful for charities with collecting tins. I assume it is Barclays that are closing, not you moving away from the area ?

Agreed ..beware Sainsbury. Their fee for changing the coins seems high..and "damaged" coins are swallowed by the machine and not refunded.Be careful!

Opened in 1880, closing 18 August 2021.

Natwest on the High Road have a machine ( or had last time I looked). But might be complicated if you dont have an account with themDon't use the Sainsburys one it takes 10% commission

David Halliday ● 1900d

Metro bank wont take coins anymore and the machine has been taken out of service since covid

Julian Pavey ● 1900d

I will thank you so much :-)

Correct - Barclays will close on the 18 of August I believe.

Perhaps top up your Oyster Card at an Underground Station.. where the self-service machine invites you to insert coins. Not sure if there's a maximum quantity that can be deposited. At a later date..perhaps one can surrender the Card and get 100% of your money back!Other suggestions welcome!
