Hello hope, any recommendations for a lovely BBQ park in Chiswick or West London?

As far as I know you are not allowed to bbq in any West London Parks. Far too much of a fire risk - especially in this weather

I think you're correct Iris, certainly not on Turnham Green, Dukes Meadows and Back Common.

Nor Chiswick House or Richmond Park or Hyde Park. Nor Gunnersbury nor Ravenscourt who say "Barbecues and open fires are not allowed in any parks and open spaces unless part of an authorised event with special conditions. Unauthorised barbecues can result in burnt or scorched grass and they may reignite when disposed of without being put out properly."
Of course in Australia - BBQs in parks are a common site - and very well used. I've often wondered why we can't do the same here although I do realise our weather is pretty different.

Aren't the ones in Australian parks permanent sites ? Very different from a DIY job.

Not sure about Australia, but I know for sure the ones in NZ parks are permanent — usually brick (breezeblock?) construction surrounded by multiple picnic tables etc. And litter bins.

Reported in today's 'i' that three UK beaches are installing BBQs for people to use for free. 'Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole council has confirmed that it will be installing six communal electric BBQs for a two weeek trial along Fisherman's Walk, Branksome Chine and to the east of Bournemouth Pier'.

Some of the public bbqs in Australia are gas fired coin operated affairs, more like a hot plate really.
