Speed limit on Goldhawk Road

What is the speed limit on Goldhawk Road between Chiswick High Road and Stamford Brook Road? I ask as I have not spied any speed limit signs on this stretch of road and would therefor assume the speed limit to be 30mph.  However, when coming south on this road there is a sign shortly before the rail bridge that tells you to slow down if you are going faster than 20mph.

In my car I stick the limiter on 20mph for all the roads round here.Fortunately speed limits only apply to motorised vehicles.

This PDF is available on the council website ... 30mphhttps://www.lbhf.gov.uk/sites/default/files/section_attachments/speed_limits_lbhf.pdf

That plan is dated September 2016 - are you sure things haven't changed in the last 5 years?

My understanding is that once you are in a 20mph zone it does not change back to 30mph unless explicitly signed to do so - there is no need for the repeater 20 signs or the road markings. On this basis the section between CHR and the mini-roundabout at the end of bath Rd is 20mph. Only after the roundabout there is there a 30mph sign. It remains 30mph until you near Shepherds Bush.

Not being a solicitor or traffic engineer the traffic signing regulations are as to me clear as mud.  https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/916837/TSRGD_2016_circular_document.pdfAs far as I can tell a local authority can pass a traffic order for a 20 mph limit on a road or for a 20 mph zone.  It appears that a 20 mph zone must have traffic calming measures.  I do not think there are any traffic calming measures on Goldhawk Road.  In any event for a speed limit to be enforceable it must be appropriately signed. The map David kindly pointed me to is part of the current guidance on speed limits on the lbhf web site.  I seems to me that if there is a 20 mph speed limit on Goldhawk Road it is unenforceable both because the council guidance is that the speed limit is 30 mph and because the signage is insufficient for a driver to be aware of a 20 mph limit.I would be content for the speed limit to be 20 mph, but as one of those eccentrically trying to comply with speed limits, I do think they should be transparently clear.
