Can you hear Wembley crowd noise from Chiswick?

One of my neighbours claimed he could hear the crowd at Wembley last night from his garden in Chiswick (Acton Green area). I'm very sceptical and think he may just have been hearing accumulated noise from TVs in the vicinity but he was adamant. We can, assuming the wind is in the right direction, hear crowd noise from Loftus Road and Griffin Park when it existed so perhaps 5 times the amount of people would be audible from 3 or 4 times the distance.

I guess it depends on the atmospherics. I could certainly hear the Notting Hill Carnival.

It may be possible but the wind yesterday was blowing from the South West so it was not likely that the strains of Sweet Caroline would have drifted Chiswickwards.

Reports of Brentford FC games being heard in Grove Park. Expect we will get a free show if Iron Maiden do a gig there.

If the wind is howling from Wembley stadium down Hanger Lane down to the Chiswick roundabout and to the east of it, it is more than possible he could and certainly with it’s full capacity of plus 90k.

They’d have to be terribly loud to drown out the very shouty people in W4 arguing about cycle lanes and LTNs
