Grilandia

Grilandia is now open on Turnham Green Terrace. Really good Lebanese food and wine. It's busy, you need to book.

I once had a takeout lunch from Grilandia Bayswater. It was delicious. Great that they’re in W4.

We ate there last night (after being rudely shooed away from the Hare & Tortoise at 9:31, despite an 'open sign' in the window) and couldn't have been more pleased. Short of a iffy credit card machine, no opening glitches. Great tastes, good portions, reasonable prices, and a decent (and cheap) Lebanese white. A massive thumbs up from us.

We ate their on Saturday night.  It is pretty good and very filling - plus the prices are fair for Chiswick.Overall the food is relatively plain - that is not a criticism merely an observation.  I would have liked a bit more interesting flavours from the main courses but that could be how Lebanese cuisine is

Andy's is the Turkish restaurant & take away next to TG tube it's been there since the mid sixties. Still referred to as Andy's by many though it's been called Lara for a few years now.

Ah yes, Tessa. Thnkyou.When it first opened as Lara, I featured on the photographic montage on their promotional postcard. To my shame, I was falling off a chair!

I remember a birthday party upstairs at Andy's for an elderly gentleman for which his eccentric daughter booked a professional belly dancer. He thought that it was all wonderful, and I must say the dancer was pretty amazing.

Wonderful memories of Andy's when 'Andy' was there wearing his old cream wooly hat in all seasons. Many an Iskender kebab, grilled salmon and bottle of Villa Doluca consumed there over the years.

That's a thought, Tessa! When I pointed out that it was my head making contact with  the floor, and that you could see a friend was grabbing my trousers to haul me upright, they said they had not noticed how silly it all looked before they handed all their photos to their printer.And since we all had a good laugh, I got a free dinner out of it.

Met a friend for lunch there yesterday.  It was a first visit for both of us and we were most impressed.  The place was packed so it was a good job we had booked, but service was quick and friendly.  The set lunches that we noticed on other tables looked huge and gorgeous but rather too much for a couple of seniors with more modest appetites so we opted for two mezze - meat balls and roast veg, and a chicken salad which were all delicious, spicy and enough for us.  Then we were presented with a set of little sweet pastries, gratis, that went so well with our coffees.  I’d just add that the decor - mirrors and greenery - gives a lovely atmosphere and prices were very reasonable.  Can’t wait to return.  Chiswick is lucky to have this place.
