Without wishing to in any way knock the fantastic work done at the Twickenham Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday I do have to question the wisdom of the "come all ye" invitation by Cindy Heslington that was posted here, as well as on Next Door and possibly other sites. Almost inevitably this led to something of a stampede and unfortunately a great number who turned up were sent away without being vaccinated. As the invitation covered those living in a wide area (including the whole of Hounslow) this was predictable and some people travelled from quite far away. To say "queues are short and lots of of Pfizer to give.....Spread the word!" as Cindy did" at 3 o'clock that afternoon was a bit silly. I assume this call for people to come was officially sanctioned to make sure no vaccine went to waste. Surely it must be possible to issue such an invitation while maintaining some sort of booking system? I stress again this is just out of a sense of disappointment that so many young people and her boyfriend wasted their time yesterday.They want to do the right thing both for themselves and to protect others but they certainly won't be rushing off to any future "opportunities" like this one.
