Church Path  stabbing

That bridge is never lit upNo cameras I seen stuff going on there .Reported to south acton police and local councillors only Gary Malcolm got back to me

It was a shocking headline to read Jonand your efforts to draw the attention of the authorities is applauded.However the location is South Acton W3 and the word CHISWICK was an unnecessary alarm for some locals.

Church Path is in Chiswick Park, Jim, not on the 'wrong side of the tracks'. It's W4.

Yes Correct, but that bridge is used by dog walkers , and lot people that have bought flats in South Acton re Acton Gardens .Just have to be careful .I use the bridge by the overground much more safer I feel ,security cameras and brighter at night.

The offence definitely took place on the Chiswick side of the footbridge.There have been some improvements made to security but perhaps the situation needs to be revisited. http://www.chiswickw4.com/default.asp?section=info&page=churchpathlighting001.htm

It clearly does need to be revisited. This is appalling. Of course crimes can be committed wherever and whenever - as in the cass of the Kent community support officer walking her dog in a village in broad daylight - but criminals unless they are high on drugs/drink will think twice if they are aware that their actions could be captured on camera. I am all for cameras installed for the right reasons (ie not sneakily to catch unsuspecting motorists who may not be aware they are doing anything wrong).

Isn't the area around Church Path a bit of a grey area as to whether it's Chiswick or Acton? I know it's a W4 postcode, but it's historically in Acton Green. Or are we saying Acton Green is now definitively Chiswick, rather than Acton?

The footbridge may be Network Rail or TfL's responsibility. Residents in Grove Park managed to get improved lighting and security on a footbridge in that area but it took a very long time and a lot of effort. Is there a residents' association for the area?
