ULEZ boundary banana

The proposed ULEZ boundary allows traffic to approach along A4  as far as Chiswick roundabout and then double back to avoid driving into the zone. Does this mean that  if I still had a non ULEZ  compliant car for a period after implementation that I could potentially drive from non ULEZ south Chiswick to the A4 and reach the north circular without a fine. Ie are there cameras on the stretch of A4 between Hogarth and Chiswick roundabout heading west?

I think all of Chiswick, except the A4 up to Hogarth will be in the ULEZ. You’ll have to be west or south of the A205 ie Kew bridge or Brentford to be outside. A good map with local detail is here https://lruc.content.tfl.gov.uk/ulez-boundary-2021-map-local-detail.pdf

I have asked Hounslow Traffic Officers to ask TfL where the ULEZ cameras will be sited. TfL have refused to say. We can only assume that they will on every junction touched by the red-line on the map mentioned in the last post. The project is on a gigantic scale as can be seen on the TfL map. Surely the money could have been spent in more productive ways e.g. in a subsidised scrapage scheme for old vehicles?

They seem to be putting cameras up at every junction even the entrance to the Premier Inn on the A4 has a camera.
