Scam

A man rang my doorbell today saying some tiles on my roof had slipped (already had a new roof in the summer!!) and if he could come in to the back garden he would show me and offer to repair it. His name was Jason, and when I told him he would be unable to see that part of the roof from the garden and refused him entry he left....scam ...beware!He drives a small white van

Back again are they! These are awful people - do not on any account let them into your home and politely tell them that you use only local tradesmen that you know and trust. Let the police know on 101 if you are approached and take the number of their van/vehicle.Warn all your elderly neighbours and friends. They prey particularly on elderly persons living on their own - even going so far as to trail such people home from the shops to enhance their "hit" rate.
