A bag like a Hippobag can be 'bought' from a DIY store.  You then 'book' a collection when you have filled it.Maybe you can share a bulky waste collecton with a neighbour?Or share a neighbour's gardening waste bin or bag (with permission)?

It's a real shame that the council (well, Ealing anyway) removed the free garden waste collection service.

I couldn't agree more but it wasn't just Ealing - it must be just about every Council if not every one because of the cuts in Council grant and the fact that Councils are not obliged to collect garden waste.  Some Consultant or other told them they could make or save some money from it. When they started the free collection - the Recycling Rate went up but sadly the amount of composting went down.  When they started to charge I doubt if as many who stopped composting will have started again.  Adding compost to your garden helps make the soil more absorbent in the heavier sudden rain storms we are now getting.

Grove Park is Hounslow - they still collect garden waste - fortnightly - you get a special big brown bin. Need to subscribe but reasonable, and you can get quite a lot in

But they won't take "wood and some general debris" unless it's basically plant debris, not earth or aggregates.
