Over 50's can now book COVID vaccinations on the NHS website

Who can use this serviceYou can only use this service if any of the following apply:you are aged 50 or overyou are at high risk from coronavirus (clinically extremely vulnerable)you are an eligible frontline health or social care workeryou have a condition that puts you at higher risk (clinically vulnerable)you have a learning disabilityyou are a main carer for someone at high risk from coronavirusYou also need to be registered with a GP surgery in England to use this service. You can register with a GP if you do not have one.

Apparently Ealing and Hounslow residents (and 6 further boroughs) have been able to do this since last Friday - I heard about it from a friend in Luxembourg who read it on the brent.gov.uk website !It is buried deep in the News section on the Ealing.gov.uk website and is not even mentioned on Hounslow.gov.uk

I got mine a couple of weeks ago as they changed the age bands overnight on the Sunday.  Entered my details on the Monday morning and got an appointment for the Tuesday and for the 2nd jab exactly 11 weeks later.I went to Clayponds in Ealing where there is some parking, although you should check the restrictions.

I got the text message from the Chiswick family doctors  yesterday to book  at Fishers Lane. Does anyone know which vaccine does the Health Centre is giving? do they text you again for the second one? It seems that if you book yourself through the NHS website you can book the second one at the same time,  by text message invitation you can only book the first one

They were giving the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine but don't know if things will change.I believe they will contact you for the 2nd jab nearer the time.

Understood that Hammersmith Novotel has dramatically increased capacity in the area, and they are looking for people to fill up all of the appointments.

In reply to Isabel, CHC use whichever they have available, Oxford or Pfizer, they only know when they are informed of a delivery I believe.They text re the 2nd one, but it is the same waiting time as the NHS sites that you can apply for, 10-12 weeks.

I have booked today for the Hammersmith Novotel. first jab on Friday (I am very happy).  When I booked this morning, there were even appointments for tomorrow if anyone is interested.
