hayfever today

I dont usually suffer from hayfever until May but this afternoon Ive been sneezing my head off. Is it just me?

If someone walks into a pub wearing an old dirty puffa jackets, or whatever they’re called, I start sneezing. Can sense the dust mites immediately.

So you put on your mask and go into a shop, and while there your hay fever kicks in and you have a sneezing fit. So what is the proper etiquette in such circumstances ? Pull down the mask and use a handkerchief or tissue to blow your nose, or let the mask take the full flow of your sneezing ?

Use the mask I’d have thought, then replace, ideally washing hands and face thoroughly in the process if at all possible. I bet the Japanese have the etiquette all worked out, to precision.

There is quite a lot of tree pollen about. There are alder trees near me with thousands of catkins, dropping pollen all over the cars and the catkins then fall off all over the pavements, roofs, everywhere.

I developed tree pollen hay fever out of the blue in March 2010, having never suffered with anything before. Normally I have 2-3 weeks of absolute agony with my eyes in March/April until it calms down. This year, however, nothing has happened ....yet. I started using a standard hay fever nasal spray every morning last year after Covid started as I read it might help with the virus not gaining access through the nose. So I don't know if that has helped or whether I am going to succumb soon.
