I think that is too late for the minority leader in the Senate, Mitch McConnell,to as you put it "grow some". A month after his scorching denunciation of the Donald from the floor of the Senate he now grovels before him saying that he would "absolutely" support him if he was the Republican Partiy's chosen candidate.It is not enough for Republicans to support alternative candidates to Trump they must reject almost everything that the man stands for. There are some things that are more important than "the Party".

McConnell is bad, but Ted Cruz is worse, much worse.During the 2016 Nomination race, where Cruz stood against Trump, the two tore strips out of each other. Fair enough, you might think, that's how politics works.Except that predictably, Trump made it personal, culminating in his publicly tweeting that Cruz's wife was ugly (compared with Melania, that is).But heyho, now that Trump is so firmly established, Cruz's tongue is firmly planted in Trump's rear end, as he seeks to gain favour for his own (political) end.

That's not the best aspect of Mr Brown's post. The best bit is that he was, just weeks ago, 100% certain that Trump would be proclaimed president imminently. How easily the delusional Brown forgets even his own certain predictions. Now it's going to be 2024, not last January. He must shiver with pride at how insightful he is.

I doubt Mr Brown even registers that Biden is actually legally  president.  In his fantasy world, along with many other weirdos in the US, legality is irrelevant, and the Orange One is still leading that country.
