John Alderton and Pauline Collins

They were friends of Barry Martin, artist in residence at Chiswick House and frequently visited him there.Does anyone know where they lived locally?

As far as I know they've lived in Hampstead for donkey's years.

Yes they have but before they moved there they were in Chiswick and visiting Chiswick House to see Barry Martin along with Timothy Dalton and Richard Briars.Barry was there from the 1980s for 30 years.

I thought she owned a house on Strand on the Green close to the Bell & Crown end.  I think she was there in 1990ties and may be longer than that.

Carla Lane lived in Zoffany House on Strand on the Green, I'm pretty sure. Kept quite the menagerie there.

Thanks all. Brilliant.Hi Bobby. Hope you’re enjoying life in Cornwall.Reason for me asking is because if Pauline Collins has actually lived in Chiswick before moving to Hampstead, she should be included on the Timeline of Chiswick Writers for “Letter to Louise.”I have already added Barry Martin to the list for “Chess: Problems, Play and Personalities”You are already on the Timeline for a book but I have pointed out that you also wrote some poems a long time ago. Plus  “ Constructions”. I have a signed copy of that, which I collected from you on Green Days.Any more suggestions very welcome. It’s amazing how many writers and artists have lived in Chiswick or still do 🤗

Thanks RimaI believe the blue plaque is still outside my house in Glebe St lolOpposite where Anthony Burgess lived in 1968..Are you compiling a book ?I think Pauline and John Alderton lived in Grove ParkI used to see them often in the 80s at theThai Restaurant in Fauconberg Road..I will ask Barry Martin when I next see him.,Regarding writers houses.,I have bought the farm in Tregerthen near Zennor where DH Lawrence lived during the First World War and wrote Women In Love .I am researching a book on the history of this village which also hosted Alesteir Crowley and others..This was always a year long project after my 2 years of shows at Saatchi Gallery and the resultant Cash is King 1 and 2 books.,But it got derailed by the Covid scare and the work I have been doing on the US Election which is ongoing..

Thanks Bobby. No I’m not compiling a book:)I’m helping Torin Douglas with the Timeline of Chiswick Writers and it’s amazing how many there have been or still are.I’ve found another 186 so far with lots more names still to search! They have to have actually lived in Chiswick and Pauline Collins is important because she wrote “Letter to Louise”.Barry Martin has said that she and John used to visit him often at Chiswick House so must have lived nearby somewhere.Any more info greatly appreciated. It’s all part of Chiswick’s rich history! Here’s hoping that things will start picking up for everyone when lockdown ends.

Oh,dear,Rima, now the self-obsessed, total egocentric Bobby knows you're not writing a book in which he could feature, I think the most you will get are a couple of scraps from the Big Table, if you are lucky. INHO anyone that takes Robert seriously is not someone I and most other people apart from the odd freak could take seriously.

Well I think that Bobby should go on the Notable Former Residents list, so I will do that now.
