Is anyone else beginning to  wonder why they pay any rates to Ealing Council at all, particularly those weat of Acton Lane?We have no buses now the 440 has been re-routed to serve non residents in the Business Park ( to take them to a Crossrail  railway that doesn’t exist). Huge, ugly, blocks of flats, that estate agents say they won’t be able to sell,  being erected on TFL land on Bollo Lane that offer us......a pavement. Wow! ( And built to help pay for the non existent Crossrail line)The possible closure of the Stirling Road tip.The closure of Fisher’s Lane, making the necessary taxi to the High Street or the Health Centre for those who cannot walk there, cost twice as much, is a nuisance. And of course the success they have had in fining those who still use it will not make them draw the obvious conclusion that it is still needed, but rather that it is a great source of income for the Council. No buses, no cars, only cyclists are paid any heed and even they are scared to use the new High Road route.increased traffic on South Parade will then lead to the curtailment of the 94, no doubt. We are barely consulted and in any case always ignored. Getting through to the council is impossible. Accountability is positively Borisonian. It reeks of corruption.Who exactly do Ealing Council think they are serving in Chiswick? A rich bunch of gullible idiots seems to be the answer. But they are as wrong in that assumption as in everything else. i will not vote for them ( nor the Conservatives, who would be exactly the same) and I think we should all consider if we’re going to pay for them, meanwhile, unless they can up their game. Everyone understands money is tight but that is not what is being complained of here. It is time to remember who employs them. Us.

I don’t mind paying for things I don’t use like skate parks but....I don’t use them and this is a complaint about value for my money and people like me, so not sure how high up my priority list they would come cf all the other pending things.I have another beef to add. I and several people I see now walk down the streets rather than the pavements, which are all uneven and dangerous. Money is spent renewing the road surfaces but none at all is spent on the pavements. Even my young neighbour tripped on the corner of Antrobus Rd and Bollo Lane and fell flat on her face. Walking down the road has been possible in lockdown when the roads have been quieter but if things ever return to normal that will cease to be the case.So we are isolated in our homes by the withdrawal of the 440, by our age/disability and now for the bit we can manage to walk, by the shocking state of the pavements. Everyone is anti- car these days, little effort seems to be made on charging points,  so I presume these roads are being newly tarmacadamed so that cyclists can safely make their way from the chaotic cycle way, home. not sure that would be a priority for me either.I am not anti cyclist but there has to be some recognition that not everyone can, or wants to cycle, that walking far can be difficult for some and that the cycle route is also dangerous for pedestrians, where those forced by the lack of 440 to take taxis get dumped out in the middle of a busy high road and then have to negotiate a two-way cycle route and pavement. Alighting from a taxi ( or even stepping down from a black cab) can take time if you use a stick. The door has to be open wide enough to get two feet on the ground, without crashing into a cycle way post and without the entire high road hooting at you to get a move on. It’s an ill thought out fiasco.
