Chiswick House Lego Model

For anyone with kids (or grandchildren) who love Lego, the 2m long Chiswick House Lego model is on display at the Chiswick House cafe over half-term - probably until the 27th or so. The model is being built brick by brick by the Friends as people donate, and is about 40% complete, with £30,000 raised for the House and Gardens out of a £75k target. For more details, see chfriends.co.uk, Lego model.

I'll donate £50 if they replace the nice white benches that used to be on the west side of the house, but were removed a couple of weeks ago.And if they try harder to enforce the dogs-on-a-lead zones as well, I'll donate £100.And if they also create a space for roller skating somewhere in the park, I'll donate £150. The place where the wedding tents go would be perfect, if they hadn't covered the nice tarmac with that packed sandy stuff.

That'll just be the £50 then please Simon. The Chatsworth benches (which the Friends donated incidentally) should be going back when the House re-opens in May, I hope.Dogs-on-a-lead enforcement, well any more frequent ranger presence would be nice, but money's a bit tight. Why don't you remind the offenders of the rules yourself?Roller skating by the House? Good luck with that one...

We took a walk from Barnes Bridge to Chiswick House this morning and pleased to note that everyone with dogs were behaving responsibly. Also no problems with cyclists or joggers.  There were however large groups who were not socially distancing and loads of mums gathering with kids. I was quite astounded at the number of kids out and about when they should be home schooling. Teachers are working flat out to provide education during these difficult times do it is disgraceful that parents are taking their kids out when they should be being educated. Totally irresponsible parenting!!
