St. Mary's Convent & Nursing Home Chiswick

Does anyone have any recent experience of St. Mary's please? The search facility brings up positive but old comments. My mother-in-law (90) has decided she needs help and doesn't want anyone living in with her, but is happy to go into a home near us in Chiswick. She doesn't want anywhere like Homecross House and whilst she does not need nursing care (yet), still wants to be looked after.

I had dealings with Nazareth House for some years- I was not dealing with the elderly but  really really caring people who  I never heard a cross word . wonderful people.  So supportive.  I don’t know st. Mary’s convent but if I ever needed care I would ask them.

I'm afraid this is a 'friend of a friend' reference but it is recent as my friend's friend only passed about 18 months ago. She was in St. Mary's for four years receiving exemplary nursing and ultimately palliative care. My friend used to visit regularly and always remarked how caring the atmosphere was.

My mother spent the last year of her life there - she died a year ago - and we thought it was wonderful. It wasn’t the smartest place we looked round, although they have had a fair bit of work done recently, but the people are lovely. Do get in touch if you want more info.

I have known several people whose family members have been resident there in recent years.  My grandmother also lived there but this was some years ago.  It is a lovely, caring place, where the staff show a genuine interest in the residents.  In normal times there was an interesting range of activities, that catered for different interests.

Although I hope my mum won't need it for a while/ever, this is the place that I've been told is the best near here for if/when she does.Usually it has a waiting list and rare vacancies. But, like many other care homes, that's not true at the moment.
