I went onto SSE website last night to post a message and enquire what was going on and their response was as follows, which explains it:Hello, I'm so sorry for the intermittent supply today. Our engineers are doing something called 'switching the network'. This involves us switching on electricity from different points of the network due to a fault nearby. There are two reasons for this, firstly, it will get most customers back on supply fairly quickly. Secondly, we will be able to narrow down where the fault is as customers that remain off supply will be located near the fault.During this process you may notice your power going on and off, please don't be alarmed, this is just because we are switching the electricity on and off to try and locate the fault.I'm so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. If you do go off supply again and stay off please don't hesitate to get in touch as we are here 24/7. - Billie
