Once again our EU friends acting sensibly and responsibly whilst we allow the whole world to fly in as they will. Little wonder our Covid deaths are so high.

Steve Taylor ● 2097d

Its a much bigger story than that !

The Outer Hebrides off the west coast of Scotland are about to enter Tier 4 lockdown. That was going to be my espace route!

Jim Lawes ● 2097d

Forget about borders, they are acting appallingly by the hour it seems if you go by the news feeds.

Julian Pavey ● 2097d

What a surprise from the incompetent, lumbering, bureaucratic, arrogant, bullying dictatorship - not, apart from to die-hard remainers of course.

Claire Moran ● 2097d

You mean they are acting as sovereign nations. Who'd have thunk it?

Stewart Jones ● 2097d

You have clearly been reading the beano in the last 48 hrs

bobby osborne ● 2097d

Hate to break it to you, Bobby so will try to be gentle. Trump is no longer President. While I am very happy about that, I know that's going to be a big blow to you. Hope you have loved ones around to support.

Claire Moran ● 2097d

Sorry to have to break the news Clare but you have been misled by the media ..As i said weeks ago USA is under military rule ..If it’s any consolation you’re not the only one ..

bobby osborne ● 2097d

The 'Biden' they keep showing us is not the real one. The only difference being that the stand-in is not a paedo..

Michael Brown ● 2097d

OMG !The Rapture is upon us.It is all foretold in the scriptures ..if you read them backwards, reflected in a mirror under ultraviolet light, just a tip..take it or leave it.So the White House is infiltrated by the CCP and the Russians ?I thought we were bad with Philby and Burgess. How do you flush out a triple agent then lol ?

This really is the best in mental posting. Clare and Bobby and Michael. Kind of Rita, Sue and Bob too - but with worse dialogue. Are they together? Do they get off on each other? Where might their consensus lie: the EU is evil; Trump is supreme; Gove is the balanced voice; Icke is our messiah??We need to hear more. We love their predictions (so very accurate). Hoist a flag, any populist flag. Crack on chummies. You three are the new (goons/Marx brothers/chuckle bros/what fecking ever).

MSM won’t report this for a few days as they are too busy with the Covid distraction story..Al Aribya have got some news if you read Arabic Iranian power and internet now down..You heard it here first

bobby osborne ● 2097d

Yes,this lock down has been bad for mental health in many cases.

Keith Iddon ● 2097d

Israel's constantly having a pop at Iran.Popped the Babel fish in,fluent Arabic .No sirens here..yet.Edge of the seat suspense, free too.

Ben Gemmingen ● 2097d

Just as well Bobby is already in the Funny Farm. They're is no need for anyone to take him away.

BO: "Al Aribya have got some news if you read Arabic,  Iranian power and internet now down..."After I read BO's latest nonsense, one quick google established that Al Arabiya (I can read and spell English, btw) has an English language website. This is what they were reporting:Air raid sirens went off in western Tehran for several minutes late on Friday, according to videos shared by Iranian social media users.    #BREAKING: The Air raid sirens across #Tehran/#Iran are active now.Unclear if anything is happening or those are just training drills.#BreakingNews #alert #إيران pic.twitter.com/LXYT45pKKN    — The Only Truth (@TheOnlyTruthInc) January 29, 2021Around the same time, a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Tehran circled above the Iranian capital before being diverted away. A Flight Radar 24 path of the airplane showed it changed its flight path to Baku around the same time reports of the sirens being heard in Tehran emerged. The two events are “unrelated,” Iran’s state TV reported, citing unnamed sources.Iranian officials insisted there was no security issue and urged citizens not to worry. The Public Relations office of Tehran’s Imam Khomeini airport said the Turkish Airlines plane had diverted due to poor weather conditions, while the director general of Tehran’s crisis management organization told state TV the siren heard in the capital was the security alarm of “a complex” which was “activated due to a leak caused by heavy rainfall.”And today's update adds:Yaghoub Fazeli, Al Arabiya English,  Saturday 30 January 2021Iran IRGC-linked agency denies ‘rumors’ of Israeli F-35 jets entering Iranian skies.Israeli F-35 jets did not enter Iran’s skies late on Friday as air raid sirens were sounded in the capital Tehran, a news agency affiliated with the country’s Revolutionary Guards reported on Saturday citing a military official. The unnamed official denied “rumors” of Israeli F-35 jets entering Iran’s skies and said that “last night’s incident had nothing to do with air threats that would activate the country’s air defense system,” Tasnim news agency reported. https://english.alarabiya.net/News/middle-east/2021/01/30/Iran-IRGC-linked-agency-denies-rumours-of-Israeli-F-35-jets-entering-Iranian-skies-

"Iranian power and internet now down..". It was, briefly, about a year ago.

Meanwhile in the real world, there’s an elephant in the room that’s getting larger by the hour. “Remainers were right. Brexit has indeed led to an outbreak of populism, protectionism and chauvinism. But not on the side of the Channel they expected. The EU’s behaviour over the past 72 hours has been so demented, so self-wounding, that it is hard to know where criticism should begin.https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/01/30/europhiles-have-finally-had-eyes-opened-hideous-reality-eu/

Bag of utter poo. First let’s set out one thing: the EU has messed up their vaccine plans badly. They first stalled over culpability. They demanded that the vaccine manufacturers carry responsibly for problems (our government was happy to accept that they would be responsible for that). That whole debate deserves another thread. Maybe in years to come. So having been very cautious on the vaccine risks and effectiveness the EU was very slow in confirming orders. The UK was fast and enthusiastic. At this point that looks like the right approach. But let’s be 100% clear. This was not a Brexit set of decisions. This was two different approaches to vaccines. Complicated by production issues and poor EU positioning. I remain a supporter of the EU. But the current EU admin appear to have got this one wrong.

Firstly lovely to see Bobby back on the forum, your input is always a ray of ignition and humour. Secondly Brexiters or Remainers  get over it and move on, divorces are rarely a nice moment but they happen... move on and make the most of the remaining life you have, bitter or sweet at this moment in time (we have a lot more hurdles to jump). My question is where are China and Russia getting their vaccines from?

Sean Crawford ● 2096d

They're both making their own.Cornovac from China-https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-00094-zand Russia's one is the Sputnik 5.There's a lot of info about both floating around.eg. https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2021-01-08/how-does-russia-s-covid-19-vaccine-compare-with-pfizer-moderna

Ben Gemmingen ● 2096d

The UK has a block on 174 medicines for export. The PM does not seem to say a lot about this.

Nicholas Beard ● 2096d

Not surprised, it has nothing to do with suddenly announcing border closures in NI, not telling the Irish government, and then doing a rapid climb down when it all hit the fan.

Russell Pearson ● 2096d

"lovely to see Bobby back on the forum,"Yeaaaa!Wish we could say the same about AC who promised to close down for ever. (but didn't)Hope for the EU's sake they ditch UVDL very quickly.  She is now a busted flush.  The French will perhaps come to their senses and ditch Macron before he goes even more off the rails than he is now.The main difference between UVDL and Macron is that the latter has a trembling finger on the Force de Frappe red button. As in theory did DT until recently, although I doubt the Pentagon would have taken any notice if he had ordered a first strike.

James Roy ● 2096d

JR: "The French will perhaps come to their senses and ditch Macron before he goes even more off the rails than he is now."The problem is, if they did, you might find he is replaced by Marine Le Pen.
