Traces BB1 final episode

After a rather dull start, this got much better. Annoyingly, after a few glasses of wine, I nodded off in the final episode tonight when Phil McAfee was being questioned. I know he murdered Maria Monroe, but I'm not sure why. Could anyone enlighten me, please? Much appreciated if you could.

Thanks for that, Mark. I've watched the bit where I nodded off, but I still don't understand why he killed her. Maybe I'm just a bit thick, or something. I guess it will just have to remain as one of life's great mysteries! Unless you watched it and can enlighten me? Or anyone else?

Jill, I watched it too so I’ll have a go. He was a a badden, he killed her in a fit of temper because she questioned why he was cheating on her friend (even though she was in bed with him in at the time and it was her he was cheating with).  What I found difficult was why his son didn’t notice he was a controlling monster and why the others went along with with his conspiracy of secrecy.  I guess that goes back to his ability to control others.I enjoyed the end though, the next generation were damaged by what had happened but still decent. And we don’t often get to see Dundee on TV and it’s beautiful, though the inside bits were filmed in Manchester. Also, I loved the theme tune.I enjoyed it but, I agree, there are holes in the plot.

I enjoyed the series although I didn’t understand why the murderer did it either but I missed the first episode and so I did wonder if there was some explanation in that.

Thanks for that. Kerry! Really appreciated. And, Michael, glad I'm not the only one who's a bit obtuse!
