Microsoft Outlook 2007 email page,  HELP

Me poking a wrong button I suppose.  Was trying to delete a load of obsolete Inbox email messages and working from oldest up the page deleting as I went using a convenient bar running across the top of the page that had options to reply/forward/delete/send/receive etc.   That bar has now vanished - what have I done?  I'd like that useful bar back but how do I do it?   Thanks in advance as quite sure someone can tell me in simple language, that a simple aged twit can follow.

"Maybe the Bookmarks Toolbar is not displaying? To turn different bars on and off, you can use one of these methods to show the toolbar list and select the desired bars there:right-click a blank spot on the tab bar (or the "+" button)tap the Alt key to activate the classic menu bar > View > Toolbarsin Customize mode > Show/Hide Toolbars. To turn on the Bookmarks Toolbar, Menu Bar, or other bars, click it on the list.I'm no expert Jennifer, but this might help.

Thanks Brian I'll have a go at your suggestions later.  Getting all mixed up as also trying to work mini iPad my nephew just given me which is of course totally different.  I like it though in my sitting room - just need a few lessons as don't understand how to copy and paste,  moving from one place to another etc etc swiping doesn't always do it.  The keyboard is arranged much better than the standard typewriter keyboard of the Microsoft computer.    Too much hi tech I can't get my old head around - drives my nephews mad.

Brian's answer is spot on. Looking at my install, it's a case of clicking on "View" in the top left (above where the icons where), then going to "Toolbars" and clicking on "Standard" to restore the icons.

An alternative way is to right-click anywhere in the toolbar area at the top of the page and it will offer the 'Standard' toolbar for you to tick straight away. It's the same with old versions of Word, where you can right-click in the toolbar area and choose from a whole selection different toolbars for different purposes.

YES SUCCESS!  I have just opened the Forum page expressly to  to say a big thank you to everyone - it really was so simple - the right click by the toolbar did the trick.    This Forum always turns up trumps (assuming that word's not been banned!) very grateful.
