I'm guilty of being a peeping Tom. I don't make it a habit, it's just sometimes on a idle twilight stroll people are starting to turn on their lghts. I delight seeing the warm, cosily lit rooms and notice how the decorations and furnishings differ from one neighbour to another. Majority exude happiness and welcome, a few look cold, with a lone crooked lampshade atop a harsh glaring light. Then I want to tweak the shade straight and change the bulb to make it more comfortable but I presume the occupant likes it as it is - each to their own and I scuttle back to my cosy small home. How very fortunate I am when so many don't have even the luxury of a blanket on a freezing cold night.
