Post Office CHR

Do you guys have a number?The only one I can find is 020 8994 4568London, Englandand this is engaged since 3 hours. Please also double check your receipts - We had multiple mistakes on their side, parcels to Europe were missing on the receipt etc so in case it got lost you are not able to claim a refund. Today we realised  they ”forgot”  to give us a receipt of a parcel which has to be sent abroad and it’s over £7.80 and there is no proof of Adress on it.  Usually you get the destination etc which you need to proof if you claim. My husband went straight back to ask for a receipt with destination on it and that lady in the post office was rude and refused to give him a receipt. When he explained that there is a dress with a value of £40 in it she didn’t bother and gave him The receipt with only the amount of postage on it and no destination of Adress for proof. She was so rude that my husband gave up. So awful. I want to call them but as I said that telephone is engaged since a ages.

In future not a far walk- go to Thames Road post office- it is such a better experience..

Or Mailbox on CHR  just past HSBC. Quick, efficient service.As Sheila Hancock said re Chiswick Post Office on Heathfield Terrace, was her choice for Room 101 and she was spot on !

Mailbox has a good service but the prices are double and if you sent parcels for £ 3.20 they won't even put the recipient's adress details in like Royal Mail does,So if a letter/Parcel gets lost you can't even claim a refund. You otherwise have to buy ''tracked parcel'' and that is OTT. I phoned them up today as we had a parcel with postage £ 9,00 and I couldn't find any details on the receipt.

The PO is only open from 9am - 2pm due to Covid at the moment. I don't know if they are short staffed at the moment.It can't be easy interacting with members of the public all day and handling their postal items during Covid. I think if I worked there, I would be worried about catching it.We consider supermarket workers to be on the frontline of Covid, I think the same about the staff in the post office and all retail outlets. Maybe they are just feeling the pressure of working in this environment during Covid.  Lets hope they all remain safe and well.Happy New Year to everyone.

Marian,What a nice post. Like you said, and regardless of all the criticism the PO as attracted, it can't be easy for the people who work there.Happy New Year to you too.

Yes. It shut at 2pm yesterday, fortunately I managed to get in the PO just before closing time. I estimate there was 20 people in the queue stetching towards the town hall when I joined it. I advise getting there early or trying to find a less busy PO.

In general I find the staff at CHR PO to be polite and efficient, a welcome contrast to the PO generally where they seem to have decided that they will drop post off once a week to my door and twice a week they drop my post off to a very nice couple around the corne

I sell records to far flung places around the world. I estimate I've posted well over 200 items via them. Have never left without the receipt. All receipts have had full details. I've only had mild attitude issues from the staff who are usually brilliant. If I worked there and had to put up with some of the snarky, rude, condescending weirdos I've witnessed them having to deal with I'd have reacted a little more colourfully than they. I think they do a grand job.
