I'm going to be upstairs on the roof, in a mask, socially distanced from my neighbours, clapping my little hands off. I have followed the rules, have, as have lots of other people, had a truly challenging, difficult, emotional 10 months, I've made sacrifices, supported the more vulnerable with practical help and I want to do something else that connects me to the community and shows some respect and appreciation for any of the heroes that hearing a clap may lift. 5 minutes at 8.00 tonight, some fresh cold air and hearing other people doing the same will help me and I'm sure it will help others. It won't change politics or financial help to the NHS, but it will help my and I'm sure at least one other person's mental health.
