Look After My Bills Nightmare.

To save people the agony of having to deal with a future nightmare  with Look After My Bills and Utility Point please read their horrendous reviews on Trustpilot.                                   This is an email I received from Trustpilot this week.                                                 People are reading your review!Hi Neil Milkins,You recently wrote a review on Trustpilot and it looks like people find it helpful.117 people have already read your review.                                                                                                       LOOK AFTER MY BILLS SHAMBLES.It is now 12 weeks since Look After My Bills without my knowledge or permission changed my energy provider from S.S.E. to Utility Point. Jacqueline Loughman promised me 9 weeks ago that they would resolve the matter within 14 days. A week ago their senior complaints manager Daniel promised me he would phone me on (29-12-20) and have the matter resolved. No phone call and no answer to my emails to him. In the meantime I am going to have a sky high electric and gas bill when this matter is resolved. It is near impossible to get a reply from them once you have emailed and phoned them and it is totally impossible to phone Utility Point as ALL their phone lines have been cut off. I have been on the phone and emailing 19 hours in total trying to sort this mess out. Anyone thinking of going with Look After My Bills or Utility Point please check their horrendous reviews on Trustpilot.

Both companies ignore all phone calls to complaints department and promise to respond to emails but don't respond. Go for option 2 to sign up and you are connected within 3 seconds.

I didn't sign up. The hapless ones who do sign up are led along by the Dragons Den reviews.

Look after my bills used to be good, efficient  and an easy way of switching to cheaper electricity and gas  providers who definitely saved us money., However in the last 18 months , since they were bought out by Go Compare Group , their customer service has deteriorated and the switches they make are less reliable.  We too had utility point and  getting refund from them when we moved home was very difficult and involved  us threatening legal action!

Every day I get emails from Look After My Bills promising me all sorts of wonderful things.3 years ago I switched to Octopus for 100% renewable energy  and I couldn’t be happier. They’ve saved me so much that I’ve been able to cancel my d/d for the last 3 months.Always prompt replies to any questions which are immediately resolved.

I second that for Octopus. Cheapest Ive ever had and really userfriendly website. Bills, balance history, meter readings easily accessible.

I would recommend Flipper over any of these people who purport to offer an independent service. Flipper truly is and doesn't take commissions.I pay them £30/ yr and they have saved me hundreds on my energy bills and check every day for a cheaper deal. They have switched me about 5 times over the last 3 years and all I get is an email and lower bill.

https://www.which.co.uk/news/2020/03/is-energy-autoswitching-right-for-you/I think a lot of people would prefer to not have to keep switching and to not have to feel that they need to rely on a company to do it for them either.  That's probably why so many have not been bothered to change.  Neil's problems show that price isn't everything and switching isn't everything either.  There should be a better way.

There certainly should be a better way. It’s a crazy state to be in where people have to constantly keep switching companies for energy supply or phone and broadband. Also the number of tariffs some of these companies have seems unnecessarily complicated. It’s also annoying when the company you switch to brings out a cheaper tariff a few months later and doesn’t inform you. Why can’t we just have a gas company that supplies gas and an electricity company that supplies electricity.

Like the old days. North Thames Gas and Southern  Electricity,  I think. Life was much simpler and I think the Council worked for the rate payer, or maybe I was naive back then maybe they’ve  always been a money  grabbing waste of space.

The best way to avoid the hassle is to stick to your original provider or find your own best deal.

After about 14 weeks, Utility Point have finally admitted that they are responsible for signing me up to them without my knowledge or permission. Unfortunately Look After My Bills who were ultimately responsible for the nightmare have tried to wriggle out of their responsibillity. A 7 day investigation by them is now into 65 days yet they have refused to answer my numerous phone calls or my past 7 emails. Please read Look After My Bills and Utility Point reviews on Trustpilot and on their own websites. Look After My Bills are offering incentives to remove negative comments from reviews.

Yesterday I received the daily email from Look After My Bills.“With more cold weather on the way it is more important than ever to reduce my energy bills.”I decided to save my personal energy by deleting it.5 minutes later the expected monthly email from Octopus for metre readings.I sent those off and immediate reply with details of usage compared to last month. Still £686 in credit even though I’ve had the boiler and radiators turned up.“Would I like to cancel this months d/d ?”Happy customer!
