Strictly Come Dancing

Bill Bailey was G R E A T !  Very well done and really well deserved.  Oti was amazing too, so delighted they won :) great team!

It's the first year that I have paid any attention to it and it was very enjoyable.I've also added 'fleckerl' to my vocab but can't see how fleckerl pasta is related.Never ever expected Bill Bailey to dance like that!

Bloody brilliant! A hard call this year, as all the contestants were very good, the BBC did themselves proud with this series.

Best dancer ever on striictly come dancing was my mum doing the lindy hop and jive in 2017 at buckingham palace at the age of 74 Ha,even does somersaults....Madness

I watched Strictly for the first time this series.  Well I’d glanced before but didn’t fancy it - was never a member of the Brucey fan club, nor Claudia Winkleman come to that.  And nothing in the world would have persuaded me to watch anything involving Ann Widdecombe.  But I thought I’d give it a whirl this time mainly because I’ve always liked Nicola Adams and Bill Bailey.My verdict.  I loved the actual dancing and seeing the contestants really putting their all into the endeavour.  And I rather like the judges, especially Craig when he’s being critical and swatting away audience objections!  And I was very happy that Bill won but if it had been HRVY who I’d never previously heard of, that would have been fine too.But all the extra stuff I can do without - the presenters, ‘It takes Two’, the razzmatazz, social media reactions.  I look forward to the next series.

The BIG difference between Strictly and Masterchef is that in the Strictly final, it's the general public that gets the deciding vote.  Whereas in Masterchef the judges do all the judging.This year's Masterchef, once again, worked perfectly.  Strictly didn't.It was an entertaining show with a great cast - except both lady judges copped-out of judging and simply sprinkled perfect 10's and gushed their way through most of the evening.  I wouldn't be surprised if neither of them makes it to the next series.They urgently need Bruno back with Craig – and a new lady as head judge.  It's a delicate and important balance that needs to be struck..Thank gawd it didn't matter this time 'cos us public didn't need them amateurs to pick the right winners.

I think you’re being a little unfair on the female judges, Stuart.  Apart from the Final when I agree that they were absurdly positive, they have picked out faults in the dancers occasionally.  But I think there’s a deliberate good-cop, bad-cop dynamic in play.  Like I said, it’s all new to me but I’m wondering how Darcey Bussell used to be as a judge?  Unafraid to tell the truth I’m guessing.I’m trying to imagine Professional Masterchef with the Final decided *only* by public vote ;-)

Yes, agree, the judges know that their scores don't count in the final, and do offer constructive criticism throughout the series. To be honest it could have been anyone of the three finalists, Jamie was enthusiastic, and really entertaining but the other three really could dance.

No Brian, it’s more than just my opinion.  He’s a multi-instrumentalist who has performed at the Royal Albert Hall.  At school he won numerous prizes for his academic work.  He gained an A at A-level music.  He’s an award-winning comedian and, it turns out he’s a mean dancer too.  If that’s not smart and multi-talented I don’t know what is.If you don’t like him, fine, but don’t post pointless bollox.

Bill is an actor/comedian/musician/has an extensive knowledge of both contemporary and classical music/a polymath.  What's not multi talented about that might I ask?
